Website

Use keywords effectively so search engines will find you.  You want to include keywords in your title, headers, META tags, ALT tags, and hyperlinks.

Make sure that your website is linked to and from your blog and all of your social media accounts.  Include it on any print media you create.

Blog

Frequency: write regularly about relevant topics to your company.  Post on a set schedule.  Don't post all at once and then stop.

Findability: Make sure people know about your blog.  Have links to your blog on your website, your social media pages, and all print media.

Social Media

Effectiveness: choose the social media forums you will use (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, You Tube), and take the time to learn how to use them.  The self-help or tools and tips sections are very useful.  Many even have video instructions.

Findability: Again, if you are using something, make sure your audience knows.  Have links off of your website and your blog.  Include messages on your print media that you have social media available for customers to follow you and contact you.

Email Marketing

When using email as one of the tools in your marketing toolbox, remember a few key things:

Frequency: don't send too many or too few.  Be consistent.  For example, a newsletter is good to send once a month.  Emails leading up to an event could go out 2 weeks before, 1 week before, and a few days before the event.

Personalization: you don't want your reader to feel like a number.

Title: You want it to grab the attention of your clients so they will open it and read it, you also want to avoid using words that spam blockers will automatically filter.

Promotion: Lead them back to your website, your blog and your social media.

Most importantly, you want to be findable when you are using internet marketing promotion!  If you are promoting your brand or product using a certain name or slogan, make sure that when your target audience types that name or slogan into Google that they will find you.  Don't just assume that you are findable, test to make sure.

Print Media

If you are using a combination of internet marketing promotion and print media, your print media should include information on how to find you online.  Include your website, what social media accounts you have, and your blog.

I know I've repeated it multiple times, but if you are going to use the tools, you really have to make sure that they are effective.  Make sure that people know they exist, because there is nothing worse than finding out after the fact that your target marketing would have interacted with you more, but they didn't know how.
